Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday that is celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar. It is a time when people come together to honor the memory of Qu Yuan, a famous poet and statesman from ancient China.

The festival is marked by various customs and activities, one of which is the dragon boat races. These races are held in rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water, with teams of rowers paddling in sync to the beat of a drum. The boats are long and narrow, resembling a dragon, hence the name dragon boat races. The races are not only a thrilling spectacle but also a way to pay tribute to Qu Yuan, who drowned himself in the Miluo River as a form of protest against corruption and injustice.
