Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde, better known as Oscar Wilde, was an Irish poet, playwright, and novelist. He was born on October 16, 1854, in Dublin, Ireland, to Sir William Wilde and Jane Wilde. Wilde's father was a renowned eye and ear surgeon, while his mother was a poet and writer. From an early age, Wilde showed a keen interest in literature and the arts.
